Key findings from PSG’s Human Resource Planning in the Current Economy report include:
Of all the changes employers are considering in this economy, altering the mix between base pay, incentives, benefits and intangible rewards is the most popular.
While 30 percent of respondents said they will consider ensuring that pay is in line with the market, 40 percent said they are not considering it.
The majority of respondents said they will not change their staffing levels of either full-time or temporary employees.
The most popular strategies for keeping workforces at an appropriate size are to hire temporary or part-time employees instead of full-time employees and to strengthen the link between performance and pay.
The most popular recruiting and retention strategies are to invest in low-cost training, change recruiting focus, develop a succession plan and develop a new talent management plan.
